15,000 already?

That can't be George I know - the George I know is always putting along cheerfully, pattering with funny stories and peppering boards with wonderful advices.

Well, now to think about it, it does explain the 15,000.

Anyway, congrats, George! Take a day off and have fun!

Using Access BE over WAN is like running to your city library, ripping out pages from a book, running back home and scribble notes on it then run back and glue the pages back into the book in the library, all during a rush hour full of drunk drivers in middle of a horrible thunderstorm, and hoping nobody else has ripped out the pages you wanted.

Thanks for all the kind words. It's been a great ride all the way. I still remember the response I got to one of the first questions I asked here (it had to do with getting the TOP 2 from a query, although the reason I needed that is long gone into the dusty corners of my memory). I was impressed, not just by the answer, but by the way I was treated by the folks here. It convinced me to stay around and "become part of the community."

I try to keep that in mind when I see one of those posts that clearly indicates the OP is new, inexperienced and likely to come to the table with lots of baggage from Excel.

There are days, of course, when I do better than others (sarcasm is a blunt instrument that can do far more damage than intended). Ultimately, though, it is so rewarding when the light goes on and you can just SEE the OP smiling because they have solved a problem. I especially get a kick out of the posts that say something to the effect of, "I figured out how to do that." It means they're going to continue to make progress, with or without us.

You guys are my second family and I love you all that way.

Thanks and continued success with your projects.

Oh, just in case anyone cares, I've started taking off a day or two every week now to work on GPG on Access 2010. It's coming along, but there is SO much new to consider, it's almost like starting over again. Thank goodness the Rules of Normalization haven't changed yet. cool.gif

Late to the party...
This is both great to see and disturbing. I could have sworn I caught up at one stage George... And yet here you are over 2K ahead again. Yoinks!
I'm being shown up as such a slacker! tongue.gif

I actually don't know how you do it. It's not as if you rattle posts out, you really think about what you want to say and offer lengthy, considered and insightful opinions (thumbup.gif).
It's that more than the count which distinguishes you - but it is the count which we celebrate today (or a few days ago :-s). Added to that, you're an absolute gentleman and a scholar.

Big congrats and long may it continue.

Congratulations George

I can only re-iterate what others have already said - Your understanding, patience, clarity and insight are what UA is all about. notworthy.gif

Here's to the next 15K wine.gif .

Warm regards
