Major Players:
Windows 2003 Server SP2 R2 64-bit IIS 5 with ASP Access 2000 MDB (Access 2003 installed) I moved my MDB from a 32-bit server to this 64-bit server. Now, almost all my ASP pages that extract data from the MDB takes a very noticeable long time to deliver any data - 32-bit was near instantaneous. Other ASP pages that do heavy work but do not extract data also deliver results that are near instantaneous. So I think ASP/IIS is not the issue. I have come to understand the implications of *doing* complex things using 32-bit applications on a 64-bit system, and maybe getting a recordset through ADO might be impacted. What do you think? I also manage the MDB directly (well, via NetBIOS/TCP/UNC). Here as well, there has been a *minor* impact on executing queries. Minor, noticeable, but entirely tolerable. (If I recall,) I've enabled 32-bit applications to run in the 64-bit space (to get PHP running for other purposes). Any suggestions? |
