I deploy an Access 2000 Application using the Run Time Module. I just ran into an issue where a customer does not have MS Office. My application however uses the Spell Checker that is installed with Office. Is there a way to "legally" install the Spell Checker or is there a way to integrate one of the several Open Source Spell Checkers? I have looked at Hunspell but have no idea what to do with it. I do have the Developer Version of Office 2000. But how to install the Spell Check and it's legality are my two issues!!! I current App used a Modified Tool Bar and has Spell Check listed as one of the options. It might be nice to implement a Button (like below) to perform the Spell Check ... just thoughts.
I thank all of you in advance for any help and support you provide, Dan Foltz |

Hi
Welcome to UA (IMG:http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I don't think you can (legally) use the MS spell checker unless you have a licensed copy of Office. Have a look here for an open source one that works with run time versions..... |

Im trying to incorporate the spell checker into a run time version also, but when I create a button and move the focus call the form, I get a "compile error; User-defined type not defined" and highlight on the code db as database;
Dim dictname As String, sugg As String, numchar As Long, db As Database, rs As Recordset, pos As Long, x As String, X1 As String, searchword As String, i As Integer, t As Integer, exitout As Integer 'ctrlchk = Application.Screen.ActiveControl Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm an Access pgmr for many years, but I don't do event procedures. Thanks Nick |
