Good evening ...
Has anyone tried to install an access 2003 application, that is packed with Access 2003 developer extension on a windows 8 Pc (32 or 64 bit edition)?
This means that the rutime of Ms Access that will be installed is Access 2003 Runtime Edition ... Will this be compatible with the new windows system ?
Thanks a lot

I would check Windows Compatibility Site and see the disappointing news myself... as it doesn't appear to be supported.
gh...
I have Windows 8 and 2007 + Runtime... and it works fine, but that report doesn't seem to say that 2003 will work... AT ALL! I don't know how that's possible... but whatever I guess.
Windows 8 seems to be more of an interface change rather than a Kernel Overhaul... so if you're looking to upgrade, I'd look into 7 as the business/IT world is starting to adopt it (As XP Support/Updates drops)

Thanks Josh for your answer ...
I have good news. Tried it my self and worked perfectly on a 32 as also on a 64 bit windows 8 system, on a virtual machine ...
It seems that everything works fine

Pleasure can I ask what the performance is like - is it nice and smooth.
I use Access 2003 on Windows 7 and it absolutely fine. I suspect it will run nicely under windows 8

Performance in Windows 2008 is very good. Everything runs as fast as in windows 7 or XP ...
