I am working on the new interface for my software. I have looked around but been unsuccessful in seeing how others are professionally implementing the ribbon, split forms, and other new features of Access 2007. The Microsoft examples are simple 1 and 2 form applications with just a few fields and don't help quite as much because my application has lots of areas and many fields within each area.

It seems like there is such an opportunity to update interfaces that it would be a shame for an A2007 application to look just the same as an A2003 application.

Does anyone know of an online gallery or source of screenshots?

jurotek: The application is in Access 97 and all images are in BMP format. The icons in the 'home screen' area all have mouseovers that enlarge the icon (rotate out another bitmap) and a mousedon (rotate out a 3rd bitmap). That form has a lot of image controls and took a little while to setup, but it definitely has a rich feel.

I have downloaded some of the MS Access 2007 examples and am seeing most of their examples using 10 and 11 point fonts. It looks like the extra size from the increase to 1024 resolution will be offset because of the larger fonts.

I really like what you've shown!

I like how the images relate to the action (e.g. outbound trailor for sales, inbound trailor for acquisitions, etc). I also like how the icons all look like they're from the same graphics program rather than an intermix of different graphic styles, sizes, and resolutions. Colors throughout are generally varying shades of brown/tan so it's not monotonous, yet you managed to keep enough contrast so it's easy to read the text.

Thanks for sharing, very inspirational. Makes me miss my days programming in Access.

Your screens look extremely nice...! Where did you get the pictures do handle the mouse over and mouse click...? Did you make all three yourself...?

Also, I have a question for you regarding resolutions and how you handle it with your application... I know how to do the center form thing, but how to you handle the many different resolutions that users can be using...?

I've taken one of your screenshots and attached it to show the problem I run into A LOT.... The top one is what a user with the small rez would see (grey lines are not shown but only viewable by scrolling over) The bottom one is what a user would see with a high rez...

It's been a long time since I updated this thread, but I just released the Access 2007 version of this software in mention. Screenshots can be viewed at http://www.equinemax.com/screenshots.aspx .

Access 2007 was such a pleasant surprise to work with since it now supports transparent PNG files - this alone saved me hours of time. The ribbon took some getting used to, but also was much more enjoyable than the old toolbars.

AB: I created a custom class object and used images for all of the tabs. it was very messy but it did hide the Access 97 tabs (IMG:http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) In my Access 2007 version, I went back to the regular Access tabs.

I have a question about the tabs on the forms. Did you say you created a custom class that used the forms (in Access 2007). I would like to use the same format you have for the tabbed forms. (You have the following forms tabbed in your screenshot tour: EquineMax Home, Horses, Contact, Calendar). I'm curious how you did it.
