Our Access Wiki has passed the 1 million page views milestone! Since its inception two years ago, the Access Wiki has grown into a repository for hundreds of informative articles, functions and class examples from more than fifty authors and contributors. Many UtterAccess forum postings now quote and link to Access Wiki articles. You can help us make it better. We welcome and encourage UtterAccess Members to make contributions, small or large, to the Access Wiki. Take a peek at Wanted Pages and see if there's a subject just waiting for you to write it! If you need help getting started, this HowTo article will help you along. Of course you can always ask questions about writing a wiki article in our forums. As a member of UtterAccess, you are also welcome to edit and improve existing Access Wiki pages. You can view the most recently edited pages in the Recent Pages log. After all, it's the community that drives the Access Wiki. Thank you for helping make the Access Wiki an important Access resource. |

I've only contributed a few dozen paragraphs to the Wiki at most, but I can testify to the ease of creating/editing articles. When I started, I was really worried that formatting an article would be a real pain, but my fears were put aside quite quickly.
Even if you feel like you're only good at doing one or two specific things in Access, feel free to check out our Wiki, and see if your expertise can add to (or improve) what we already have! Dennis |

Whoa-- something around UtterAccess Forums that has a bigger number than theDBguy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
I second what Dennis said--it's not that difficult to write an Access Wiki article-- if I can learn to edit in the Wiki you can write that article! |

It is very easy. You don't even need to know the little bit of markup that there is, as the editor has a toolbar for handling formatting and inserting headings, etc.
Some of the stuff can get a little complicated, such as setting up templates (these can be likened to VBA's functions: use a name and pass some arguments to get something back), but mostly this is only done by the mod/admin team to help in maintaining a consistent feel to the pages. The great thing about editing in the wiki is that you don't have to do anything other dump some text there. Someone else will drop by and make it look a little nicer if need be. The moderation crew keeps a pretty close eye on all the happenings there and spruces up what needs sprucing up, but really the information itself is far more important than how it looks, so if you think you have something, feel free! We've put a lot of work into the Wiki, and it's great to see it getting this kind of attention. Thanks to all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thanks.gif) |
