I have a machine (win 2k with office xp) that can show the contacts in the contacts folder, but clicking opn the "To,CC or BCC" to add an address raises the error that the address book/ contacts are corrupt.
I can send a mail to a specific addy in the contacts folder, but not the "new mail".

Any ideas guys?

try using the Scanpst.exe file to repair your pst file. You can find it at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\

If that doesn't do the trick try moving your pst file to another location, create a new pst file and then import your inbox, contacts, calendar etc to your new file.
