In an Access 2003 form, if I change the color of text in a field it changes the color of the text in that field on the rest of the forms in that database. Is there a way to prevent this?
Thanks. |

Just a clarification are you saying you have this field in more than one form? If so is the field also in more than 1 table? Or is it that the form is continous and in the formating of the color it changes all to that color? If the latter this is normal for a continous form.

What I have is a form with a particular field in the form that when I change the text in that field on that particular page of the form, it changes the color of the text in the same field on all the pages of that form.

By pages/forms I'm assuming you mean records displayed on the form. Is this correct?

It sounds like you are opening your form in design view and setting the background or foreground color and then opening the form and this formatting is being applied to ALL of the controls with that formatting. This is what is supposed to occur. IF you want a different fore or background applied you will need to use Conditional Formatting Format>Conditional Formatting from the menu bar. For example you have a control and it is populated with the name Jim and based on that you want that control to be a different color than the Default click on the Jim Control GoTo Format>Conditional Formatting and use If Value is Equal To "Jim " then select the color you want for either the foreground or the background or both from the color pallette and then open the form. As you Navigate trough the Record(s) If that control is populated with Jim it will change to the color(s) you selected, otherwise it will carry the default color(s) you have set for that control.
