I'm trying to get names of customer , customernumber, customerphone, product, and description on to one row. For example,
customer customernumber customerphone product description Bob 12345 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx zune blue Bob 12345 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx zune blue Jill 23456 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx xbox white Tom 34567 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx windows phone black James 45678 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx windows 7 Professional James 56789 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx windows 7 Home So my queston, what's the best way to organize this in MS Access 2007 or MS Excel 2007 So they line up like this. Customer customernumber customerphone product description Customer customernumber customerphone product description Bob 12345 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx zune blue Bob 12345 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx zune blue Jill 23456 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx xbox white Tom 34567 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx windows phone black James 45678 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx windows 7 Prof James 56789 xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx windows 7 Home Basically the duplicate items will move up to the same row and the non duplicate is just left alone. Please help!!!! I've been trying to do this for the last a couple days and can not fine an answer. Could someone please help and show me how this could be done? I would much appreciate it kindly. Try something like this in Excel
Put your data into Columns A, B, C, D Then in cell E1 put the formula: = A2, in cell F1 put the formula: = B2 in cell G1 put the formula: = C2 in cell H1 put the formula: = D2 Now in Cell I1 put the formula = a1=F1. Copy the formula down Filter on Column I for all the false values and then delete the data in columns E thru H for those rows. |
