I'm about to start a major intranet project for my company (Customized CRM). I mostly use heavily customized Data Access Pages (ASP functions) with SQL Server. I just bought Visual Studio 2005 hoping to find some new productivity tools for the part time programmer (thats me).
After doing some research I found no mention that DAP's would be included in Access 12. Has Microsoft announced whether it would continue to support DAP or is going to come out with a replacement? Anyone hear anything??? Thanks |

DAPs will be depreciated in Office 12. They will continue to run but you will have to use Access 2003 to edit them. I don't expect we will make any improvements to them in the future. We think if you have needs for intranet projects you can use SharePoint lists and the SharePoint Designer to create web applications. For large applications where you need data validation and referencial integrity I recommend using VS 2005 and ASP.NET.
