I am about to market a mde database I have designed. I need advise on deploying this application so that I can thwart any unathorized replication of purchased product. Can this be done in Access somehow? I am unsure of what I need to do or if there is anything I can do to thwart this activity?

Thanks for any advise in advance,
Rick

Not really.

You can implement security and (as you mention) create an mde - but the days of a truly protected Access application (even in mde format) have gone for now.
2007 will have something to say on that though (improved database password) - but that's in a different way to which many would have liked.
Still - it's an option perhaps.

Hi,
I think you are more looking for something to not have anyone use it if they didn't buy a license for it right...rather then protecting the data within it.
If so search UA...there have been different samples to this approach...some could be to read a serial number of the hard drive and if the serial doesn't match then disable the application...another would be to implement some registration code which you send them and if that is not implemented it won't work either or...!
A good start are these:
01
02
03
...
HTH
Good luck
