This is just a post about an application we came across that sends email from a sql server...instead of using Outlook, CDO, redemption, or ClickYes.
Kind of good timing, but a co-worker came accross SqlAnswersMail the other day to use it in a project we are working out now (query results and display them in an email...nicely formated and everything). We tested it out Tuesday and yesterday one of our custom apps quit sending emails...possibly because of Exchange updates that were put on for DST. We decided to impliment this product...works like a charm...fast too. In a couple of our applications we have created, we store emails in our database...not an outlook profile. When an email is sent, it uses Outlook on the computer to send the messages, etc. With SQLAnswersMail, you call a stored procedure, it does it's thing, and relays the message to the exchange server. Just wanted to let other people know about this product...might be what some are looking for. Nick |
