Excel 2000
Recently I lost access to my excel files... one day everything was fine, then the next I started getting the following error every time I try to open an excel document: "Error 1926: Could not set security for file "c\config.msi" error 5..." I did a search for this on the microsoft site, and only saw this error addressed as a visual basic problem. Help... anyone? Barbalu |

Try doing a repair on your Excel installation.
Put in your Excel 2000 (or Office 2000) cd and choose the repair option. If this fails uninstall and reinstall excel/office This should not affect any of your current excel files, but might be an idea to back up your work before you do it. HTH Jon |
