Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Nate personally, I've always enjoyed reading his posts here at UtterAccess.

He helped so many and thought us all the finer points of Excel and VBA. I will definitely miss his presence.

May he rest in peace and my deepest condolence to his friends and family.

Nate was a special young man, one which we are all better for having known. I've never been an Excel Guy, but with a talent like NateO around, you couldn't help but peek an eye and watch the amazing stuff he did. He was a fantastic fountain of knowledge, but more importantly, he knew how to teach that knowledge to others and help them become better.

Rest Well Nate, you have done well in this world.

Nate was a good guy. He had a respectful demeanor about him when I first met him that was very appealing. He knew his stuff and was fun to hang out with.

I remember coding an Excel automation process and putting the 'close Excel' in the wrong part of the loop ending up with many EXCEL.EXE processes (bad thing). As I was fixing the problem, I was hearing his voice in my head "Doug, Doug, Doug, do not leave hanging processes like that". When we met the following summit, and I told him the story, he shock his head and said (while laughing) "Doug, Doug, Doug, did I not tell you to not leave hanging processes like that"...

I am going to miss Nate. I always enjoyed interacting with him online and offline.

Nate was not only well-versed in Access and Excel technique, but he had the patience and skill to explain those techniques to anyone, from the beginners to the old dogs who were hesitant to learn new tricks. He was a great tutor, and he'll be sorely missed.

I hope that someone in his family comes to visit our little community, so they can see how many people all around the world he affected in a positive way.

I can barely wrap my mind around this. Thank you for posting the thread and the pictures, Crystal. Nate was an amazing intellect, a generous teacher, and a very good person with a big heart. I wish I had had the opportunity to meet him face to face. Nate, you will be missed by so many.

To Nate's family and friends, with sincere sympathies on behalf of his extended family here at UtterAccess.

We have all been so fortunate to have met or known Nate, and he will indeed be missed terribly.

Nate has always been so brilliant, fun and kind. His spirit and attitude are things we can hold in our hearts forever, and smile with such fond memories.

This news is truly received with profound sadness. While I have not had the honor of meeting Nate personally, it has been my privilege to have him increase my Excel knowledge and understanding through his professional and humble manner. Dennis spoke correctly when he mentioned Nate's knack of teaching old dogs new tricks with patience.

UA is truly a Great Family. I can not recall ever feeling such depth of loss over someone that I never "met" physically. UA affords me this wonderful experience of "meeting and knowing" many wonderful Giants, on whose shoulders it is my honor to stand.

Many prayers go out to Nate's Family.

Whenever I had a Excel question, I could almost put money on it that it would be Nate who would give me the answer, not just the answer, but explain the why, how, and huh. Will be sorely missed by all in the Excel communtiy and in general. Thanks for the pics Crystal.

I'm sorry to say I do not know who Nate Oliver is. So many times I get help on the forum and do appreciate the help I'm getting. But it's hard to put a face to the icon image. So I did a search on Nate and read some of his responses where he was helping someone and all of a sudden I did feel a sense that there's a person there. I did not know Nate but I also will not forget.

I did not know Nate personally but he has helped me with a couple of problems. Whenever I saw his name in a thread I took particular interest in his message. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to truly enjoy helping others. He will be missed.
