Not sure what I did, but it happens with any database I open now.

All my forms open to full screen in tabbed view no matter what I have the settings for the form set to. It happens in the database I created, sample databases I have opened. Everything. It seems to have started when I was trying to insert a picture in one of my forms headers and I selected Fit to screen or something to that effect. I deleted the picture, it didn't work out. But now I am stuck with this problem. Every form I open, is edge to edge full screen. And I am set to use tabbed view in Access Options, too.

In design view, my ruler across the top goes out to beyond 14 inches and the side ruler does the same thing. Is there any way to get this back to normal? It's so frustrating, I was going to actually build a new database from scratch (no records enter yet) but that's when I noticed this happens in every one I open.

Please please let me know how to undo this.

Thank you so much.

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Not sure I understand your question but have you tried?

Office Button > Access Options > Current Database > Document Window Options > Overlapping Windows

Just my 2 cents... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/2cents.gif)

Yes I switched to that, and even though my actual form is is only a small box for a switchboard. In overlapping mode, it has scroll bars that scroll down way past what the form controls lay out are. So then I switched back to tab view and it's still full screen. I thought maybe I had one thing that was too big on the form but like I said, it does it to every single form in every single database. I have no idea what I could have done.

Thank you for any guidance.

Kathy

Have you tried creating a new database and then importing everything from the orginal file/database?

EDIT: This happens in every single database?

Can you upload a zipped copy of any of these databases and someone will see if they have the same problem? Meanwhile, open this database and tell me how it looks.

The one you uploaded opens correctly, but I believe it was in version 2003. I am using 2007, just in case this matters. Here is mine. Things are a mess in it because I am jut learning and it's my trial and error.[attachment=52466:Insuranc...chboard6.zip]

I changed the sample you sent to me to tabs and it now it opens the same way as the others. I would like to have tabs, but is that the only way to get them is full screen? and how come when I change mine to overlapping windows, it creates scroll bars the scroll outside the form size I set?

Any help would be appreciated.
