Hey guys,

I hope you guys are having a better start to the New Year then me.

I am attempting to open a report in my database and a message saying "Microsoft Access Has Stopped Working" It then says Windows can try and look online for a solution, and try recover the lost information and restart the program.
It then gives me the below options:

- Check online for a solution to the problem and restart the program
- Restart the program
- Debug the program

When I delete the report and try copy and paste the same report in from a backup, it does the same problem.

Do you guys know why that is? I have never encountered anything like this before :(

There is more than one possible reason, but the first thing that comes to mind is corruption in that report.

Does it work properly in the backup?

If not, it is probably corrupt and needs to be recreated from scratch.

If it works in the backup, then have you made other changes in other objects in this database?

Have you checked the references in the database? Are any shown as "MISSING"?

Do you have Option Explicit in every module in the database?

Does your code compile?

If the problem is a corrupt report, one possibility is to recreate it from scratch.

Another possibility would be to use the SaveAsText / LoadFromText method to try to recover the report.

HTH

Backups are worth their weight in gold, are they not?
If the back up works, and it is similar to the non-working version, you could just delete the bad version and make a new copy from the working back up.
