Every day I work with Excel, Access and Word - every day - I was thinking about creating a batch file to open these every day - is that possible ?

Which version of Windows (?or DOS?)?
If using Windows, there's a "Startup" section you can use to start those... |

And if not Windows, you could use an Autoexec.BAT file.
Just my 2 cents... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/2cents.gif) |

Jeff - what do you mean 'Startup' Not sure about version - my screen says Using v 5.1.2600 MS Win 2007 I bought a book at a thrift store on creating batch files using MS DOS - the book was written in 1993, and a lot is very relevant - but the book says 6.0 on the side, so I'm not sure how to check what version |

>> v 5.1.2600
means Windows XP SP3 If you follow the Windows "menu" Start/Programs, you will see a (Menu) Folder called "StartUp". If you copy/place the shortcut icons for Excel/Access/Word into this folder, they will be automatically opened whenever you log on. OTOH, I don't recommend this. Why do you want to slow down the logging-on process quite a bit by opening 3 (fairly big) software applications while you are waiting for the computer to be ready? You are much better off have 3 shortcut icons on your Desktop (and the Quick Launch MenuBar, if required) and only open the software applications whenever they are needed. |
