I am trying to link tables in my access database to MySql.
I have created a MySql database. I have installed MyODBC and successfully set up a system DSN as an ODBC Data Source. When I use Link Tables and Select Data Source it appears on the list, but when I click on the data source nothing happens, it simply returns to the normal access screens. I have tried stopping firewall, av, etc. Is there anything else I could test or try ? |

I Found the answer here: http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?65,38431,39010#msg-39010
Which says: after installing the "Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (KB891861)" every attempt to update or add linked odbc tables crashes Access (using the existing data link seemed fine). They updated msjet40.dll (7/19/2004), and it seems to not play well with the odbc program. Replacing the dll with the previous version (3/1/2004) fixed the problem. |
