Hello,

Could somebody tell how can I open different forms (one at a time) as a result of a selection in a combo box in the previous form.

Essentially I have 10 tables of the same format and 10 forms the same ( not quite worked out how to have one form and span it accross 10 tables) and I want to be able to pick the dataset to work with in an opening form with a combo box. The result of this selection in the combo box then opens the correct form such that I can work with the correct data.

I know I could easily have an opening form with 10 buttons on it each opening their respective form but I would rather have a combo box , it just seems alot neater.

Cheers Nick

Presumably you mean that you have 10 tables, all with the same columns? If this is the case, then you need to revise your table design before you go even 1 step further with anything in your database.
Post your structure and along with a brief description of what your db is meant to do, and we can help.
Yopu should also search this forum site for 'Normalization' and read the reccomended links that you will find.

Not got much of a structure to my database as yet, but the requirment is...

To record changes and distribution data of internally written software. We have about 10 pieces with about 20 fields of data to be recorded.

I figured in my little brain that it might be more pragmatic to have 10 seperate tables all the same for each piece of software.

I know that I can query one large table pretty comprehensively but you just end up with one massive table to sift through when your searching and cleaning up, I tend to do this manually as I'm not an Access guru, so for me to have ten tables seemed easier from an interface perspective. And if this is not difficult to do then I thought it would be the way forward.

Butmaybe I'm creating more problems than I'm solving going this direction. I'm not totally keen on that.
...

Normalization ! I did try searching the site for anything similar but as is always the case you have to know the buzz word in the first place to get any meaningful hits.
