Does anyone know a good reference book/website/other that talks about unbound forms? I've inherited a database with about half bound and half unbound forms.
My specific issue is that I have a large form filled with unbound objects. I have an unbound Listbox with 8 fields that get returned from a query. Column widths are set to show the last 6 fields in the query using Column Widths 0";0";1.2";1.2";1.2";1.2";1.2";1.2" and Column Count of 8. When I replace one of the fields in the query (say the 7th of 8 field), the data from the query either only returns 5 columns or it returns a blank record. Ideally, I could read a good discussion on exactly how that works. JK |

Hi JK,
What version of Access are you using? Please remember to select the version number when posting questions in case it becomes relevant to the discussion. It might also help if you could post a zip copy of your db with test data. Maybe somebody here could explain exactly what's going on in your form. Just my 2 cents... I have Access 2010 (no SP1) running on Windows XP SP3+. I'm able to get it to work okay on a small simple form.
For my other form, the Row Source is a SQL statement returning 8 values. The original SQL statement here returns 8 fields. I have been using the column widths and column count to make the first two fields not show. 0";0";1";1";1";1.2";1.2"; 1.1" If I try to put 0" in the 7th slot, then I seem to get undesired results. Unfortuatelly, this form is probably one of the most complex ones we have so a zip and send won't work. |
