Has anyone used this addin with Access 2K3 SP2? Not sure what is going wrong but I cannot seem to get this addin to recognize objects (forms, modules etc)

Is there another product out there that can be used with Access for Revision control?

I'm currently running A2K3 SP2, VSS 6.0 (build 9848) and the source control add-in (6.0.89.72) without any problems. Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the source control add-in?

I wrote a detailed answer to your question but it was lost when I hit the back button ... sigh ....

Yes, I even installed this on a brand new machine with the same results.

Am I missing a step????

1) Create and opend a new VSS database using Admin
My Documents\VSS Projects\ABC

2) Opened Access and loaded c:\ABC\BIN\test.mdb

3) Add DATABASE to SourceSafe
i) says DATABASE must be closed and provides Yes No Cancel (Yes)
ii) asks for VSS database name and Username (ABC/admin)
iii) asks for project name (test)

This results in;
a) adding an empty folder test.scc to the bin folder
b) write protecting test.mdb
c) addiing file vssver.scc to the bin folder
d) addiing a project test to database ABC

No files or objects are in the project.

I can confirm the described behavior when trying to add new Access databases. It works for databases where you already have established source code control.

I have no clue what is causing this.

So how do you establish a source code control then?

I have not added any new Access databases for at least 6 months. All development work is currently done in one large Access database (about 300 objects) with already established source code control. Add and deleting objects works just fine.

Did a quick search but couldn't find any information about this issue. Please let me know if you find any information.

Ok I think I finally found the problem;

MS has two SP6 updates for Visual Studio products

I have both the VSS SP6 and the FULL SP6 install files;

vss6sp6enu.exe 5270KB

vs6sp6.exe 62305KB

If I install the VSS SP6 the Access Add-in odc_accscc.exe doesn't work ... however
if I install the full version it works fine ... I suspect the VSS SP6 is missing something???

Anyway thanx for your help
