The Access Wiki opened for business a little more that a year ago (February 22, 2010). Can you help us out by answering a little survey?
If you have visited the Wiki:
Feel free to include in your reply any thoughts and comments about the Wiki that aren't covered in these questions. Glenn |

I've been there a couple of times. I am aware of the contents and if I ever need an Acess function, it would probably be the first place I'd go.
I do little with Access and a lot with Excel, so most of the Wiki is not of immediate interest to me. |

Have you visited the Wiki?
Yes Have you actually used any information that you found in the Wiki? Yes If you have visited the Wiki: How often have you visited the wiki - once only, 5, 6 to 10, more than 10 times? Probably 5 When you are looking for solutions do you check the wiki - first, at some point, only when a poster refers to the wiki, never? Random - but will try to remember to use it first, or before posting a Q. Have you referred anyone to the Wiki - once only, 5, 6 to 10, more than 10 times? No Have you contributed one or more articles to the Wiki? No What is your favorite Wiki article? Can you say a few words about why the article appeals to you? None yet |

Never, not thought of it. u Have you referred anyone to the Wiki - once only, 5, 6 to 10, more than 10 times? =No Have you contributed one or more articles to the Wiki? = No, I couldn't understand more than one word on how to create articles AND looks like I'd have to learn another language (Wiki mark up) What is your favorite Wiki article? Can you say a few words about why the article appeals to you? =Don't have one! Thanks! |

Hi Zocker, et al. Thanks for the feedback.
Recently we've changed the face of the wiki around a little in an attempt to clear some of this up and make it easier. If you still have interest, take a look at the HowTo - Add a Wiki Article page. It's a brief and concise example that shows the three steps required to add a fully functional article to the wiki. I will be creating similar pages for the Function Library and other sections shortly. Also, the new User Contribution Guide gives a little bit more in-depth walkthrough of how to find your way around editing and contributing throughout the wiki. The markup, IMO, is no worse than typing a regular post in the forums. Actually a little easier, and you don't need to have an extensive knowledge of it by any means to create a good article. The markup example page shows a perfectly acceptable article using three basic markups (which can be found in the button toolbar above the editing box, just like the forum as well). Hopefully some of the recent restructuring and help pages alleviates a lot of the previous confusion! Thanks, |
