This is my first Access job. I am posting payments to a table that is joined to a billing master table.
Most of the entries (batch, date, amount) are duplicates except for the master record ID. Sometimes an amount is different, and every 100 or so postings we start a new batch. All I can find in the help system is to enter Ctl + quote. There are >55,000 receipts to post. I want the form to offer the previous entry in the column as the default, so the operator can just hit enter, enter, to accept the defaults. I don't like the idea of having to hit Ctl+quote, tab, Ctl+quote, tab >110,000 times. Oh - and the boss wants it yesterday. |

Welcome to Utter Access Forums! -o!
Go here and scroll down until you find the Autofill demo. Download it and there you will find code to do what you want. There are may ways to skin this Access cat so search the Archives here or do a Google search.... hth, Jack |

Thanks for the pointer.
It's all about knowing the magic words (autofill). I was looking for "default from previous". Now if I can just make it work. Thanks, -Bill |
