Hello,

I want to split an access db and set up the front end so the user dosen't have to enable macros or vba because of the trust settings.

Is there anyway around having to enable macros in Access 2007?

Thank you.

In order to do any work with macros or VBA, macros and VBA need to enabled.

You can't enable them yourself because the whole idea of trusted locations is that the user must make that decision, not you and your database.
This Link might be a bit of overkill for your purposes, but it might give you some pointers and questions to ask your network support people.

I would recommend using this to deploy your front end:

Auto Fe Updater

Access 2007 Security Warning - Certain content in this database has been disabled.
A: In the Auto FE Updater program Update the configuration file and select Trusted Locations screen. Then click the check box appropriate to your version of Access.

You're welcome!

From the first two paragraphs at the autofeupdater link:

Want an easy way to distribute updates to the users of your Microsoft® Access® front end? Tired of visiting each users PC to roll out a new version of an Access® front end? Weary of explaining to each of the users how to use Windows Explorer to copy the new FE from the server to their PC; And then fixing up the mistakes they inevitably make. And how to get the FE to a new user?

This process is exactly what the Auto FE Updater is designed to do. And it's free. ...

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I am having trouble with the trust centre set up on autofeupdate.

Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Thank you.
