I frequently get e-mails from UA with "Forum Subscription New Topic Notification" as the subject that already have multiple responses. This morning I got one that I opened as soon as it hit my inbox and there were already 8 responses. I use gmail.

I too often receive notifications late and out of order.

I thought it was my email server doing some sort of spam checking but it's interesting that this happens to others too.

Me too.

I'll take this back to the engine room team. Maybe something has jumped the tracks. Or maybe it's late April Fool's Day jokes.

I've traced the received and sent times and only received single notifications for each post, however they weren't always received in the order they were sent and sometimes there were quite long delays before I received notifications, which gave the impression that the same post was being notified multiple times!

Warm regards

Bernie describes my exact experience - it has been going on for at the least the best part of a year.

All of that suggests an email service issue. I have a friend who took a position as IT Director (Yeah, he crossed the line from Access developer to "IT", but we're still friends anyway). He's spent the last month or two wrestling with this kind of issue with his organization's email providers. I couldn't repeat most of what he says, but it boils down to the soup being rich and complex with lots of ingredients and flavorings. The days of good old plain beef broth are long gone.

Still, I've asked the admin team members who do the back room stuff what they think.
