I have spreadsheet that has 5 columns. There are about 1500 rows of data. Column 5 has various numeric values. Column 1 has a text description of that row. I have a Max() formula at the bottom of column 5. What I want is a formula t the end of column 1 that will show the value of the cell in row 1 that is associated with the result in the Max() formula.

Hi,

If your Max() formula is in cell E1501 then you can try something like in cell A1501:
CODE
=INDEX($A$1:$A$1500, MATCH($E$1501, $E$1:$E$1500))
