While trying to make the navigation pane smaller, the navigation pane became so narrow as for the "handles" to expand it back disappeared. I have tried double clicking in what remains of the pane, also hiding/showing the search text box, as well as hiding the pane through options and then putting it back but so far, nothing works. The pane is still there, but so small, it is extremely difficult to use. Please help! thanks!.

Did you try just hitting F11?

I have seen this problem. A compact and repair fixed it. You may have success with that method. No guarantees on that though. If not, try creating a new accdb and importing all of the objects from this one.

I have just had the same inconvenient problem and fixed it - might be useful for someone! :-)

I right clicked to get the navigation options and unticked show the search bar.

That allowed me to widen the nav pane - I assume it will be the same if you tick the search bar.
