I used to be able to view the .ldb file in notepad at my company to identify who had my database open.
It would list whatever computer login name(s) were in the database which I could then associate with a user for contact.
Now though it is just showing a string of unknown characters.

ldb file Example:
单位〱〹䰹㘲㤸5††††††††摁業n†††††††††††††单位〱〹圹㘲㜴3††††††††摁業n†††††††††††††


I tried Google translate but it returns the same with no translation.
I tried MS Word. It says the character font is "Microsoft JhengHei". However it doe snot allow me to try to change it to another font to see if it would show up as normal letters.


Thoughts on what this is and how I can get back to being able to see computer sign-ins of who is in the file at any given time?

it just randomly looks like characters.

They are actual characters that I found some translations to here: https://en.wiktionary.org
The meanings just make no sense and no reason for them to appear in a ldb file.

I think it's a non-profitable way to invest time.

While the "names" are rendered in Unicode characters that don't show up as English characters, they are clearly not "binary", but that's not useful information in any event. You can't interpret them for your purposes.

I believe there is a utility in our code archives that can retrieve the information you want. IIRC, it was contributed by datAdrenaline.
