It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of long time UA Moderator and Wiki Editor Alan Greenwood (Alan_G). Since joining UA in 2003, Alan was an active member of our community, helping countless members improve their understanding and use of Access. Alan's signature line It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice, is well reflected in each of his posts. Alan, we will miss you.

> Dbase Support For The Msi ("boxed") Version Of Access 2016
Posted by GroverParkGeorge - May-5-17 - 0 replies
For those interested in working with dBase files, this is good news.

dBase Support for the MSI ("boxed") version of Access 2016.

At this point, if you have either the Click-to-Run or MSI installed version of Access 2016, you should be able connect to DBase files again. You may need to update your installation of Office and Access to see it.

This function was dropped, as some of you know, in Access 2013. Public response on the UserVoice forum led to this restoration. Please visit User Voice and lend your support to suggestions for improving Access.

> Fifteen Years Working With The Access Community
Posted by argeedblu - Apr-26-17 - 10 replies
Founded on April 27, 2002, UtterAccess is celebrating 15 years as the premier Access peer-support community. Our membership has grown from a handful of dedicated gurus to more than 250,000 members, ranging in experience from newbie to guru. As a community of volunteers, we are dedicated to advancing everyone's knowledge and understanding of the power of Access. It is no small sign of the dedication of our leading members that 75 of them account for more that 900,000 posts, almost a third of our total post count. To say that we are proud of our accomplishments, and proud of our Administrators, Moderators, and VIPs, would be an understatement. Thank you and happy birthday to everyone!
