Hi,

I've a table with the following structure

CODE
tblManholeInlet
==========
NPS
InvertElevation
Direction1
Angle
Direction2
Drop

Essentially, Direction1, Angle, Direction2 when put together establishes the direction of incoming pipe like N60W or E45S or S30W etc.

The permitted entries in the field Direction1 are "N","S","E","W". What I need is to restrict entries in the field Direction2 based on value of field Direction1. When Direction1 is "N" or "S", I need to limit input in Direction2 field to "E"or "W" and vice versa. When Angle is 0, we ignore Direction2.

Is it possible at the database definition level. I am sure that this can be accomplished at form level by option button, but not sure about the database definition level.

Nimish

Nimish,

Search for threads with Northing and/or Westing ---that seems to be to be the term used by those dealing with Directions/Locations.

Here is a link from within UA with such terms. It may be helpful to you.
