For those who care to have a progress/status meter that is editable and placeable without using an ActiveX control.
The code was found on Microsoft's site at: Reusable Status Meter and written by Ken Getz, Paul Litwin, and Andy Baron. I just took what they offered and turned it into a small db (attached)
The attached db is zipped and the db contains only two objects: frmStatusMeter and basStatusMeter. To use this in your own apps, just import both objects into your db and follow the instructions (comments) in the code.

It works pretty good.
However, if the form refreshes too fast, user can not click cancel.
Added a line "DoEvents" in Public Property Let UpdateMeter(intValue As Integer) will let user cancel anytime they want.

Here's a version updated through Access 2007.

I added the DoEvents line mentioned by hchen3 as well.
