I am not terrifically familiar with other wikis and never really noticed until our wiki came along but most wikis have a 'Talk' page associated with almost everything. Except for our wiki, any that I have looked at provide access to talk pages with a 'Talk' Button. We have an 'Add Reply' button.
wonder if, in the wiki context, if a 'Talk' button, rather than the 'Add Reply' button might not be more intuitive?

Morning Glenn,
UA is 'skinned' automatically by the bridge which is the connecting software for forum to wiki, and that's why there's a similar yet moderately confusing button image. Perhaps we could ask Mark if he would be able to PhotoShop the image to read 'talk', which certainly would be more intuitive.

Do we need this photoshopped still? I can certainly edit the graphic if anyone's interested, no idea how to get it into the framework though...

Hi Jack,
You're having a ball aren't you? Excellent! ertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbup.gif" />
Mark (CyberCow) is looking after the majority of the graphical 'tidy-up' site-wide and he's mighty busy, so hey (or for Mark) hay, ohyeah.gif if you feel up to it, I don't think he'd mind a bit of assistance...by all means.
If you build it, you can email it over to me (webmaster@...) or just attach it here and I can grab it and find it a home.
Thanks very much Jack!

Mark,
checked a couple of pages. The talk button appeared on the regular articles I checked but in the Manual namespace the Add Reply button is still there.

Jack,
So, no, no . . . you're not really done here, and we do move fast (sometimes), but we want you to know we still need you. This particular graphic is done, but I'm sure there will be more. I just happened to have built a Photoshop file with buttons already so it was quite easy and fast for me to do this one. The real fun comes when trying to find where in the code is the buried reference to any given image . . . . . . . as noted by Glenn's reference to it not appearing in all the places it needs to.
It's really good to have you hear. Your entheusiasm is very much appreciated and it is noticed across the board.

Thanks for the head's-up Glenn. I seem to have difficulty with refreshes in IE8 and sometimes I will attribute a no-show to that aspect of the imperfect world of Windows PCs. I'll take a deeper look at the Wiki file code this evening after work.
Cheers

Well by all means if there's anything else you think I can give a hand with just let me know. I can't promise too much (sometimes I'm a little busy with other things), but I'm always happy to try.

Hi Mark
've just checked a couple of pages and the new Talk button is alive and well at the top of the pages, but there's a duplicate set of buttons at the bottom of the pages one of which still says Add Reply

Sorry to be a fly in the ointment Mark but this page and this one have talk at the top but reply at the bottom.

And how come there are two separate graphics being used for each function (one at the top and another at the bottom)? For example, notepad with plus sign for Talk on top and double-quote symbol for Talk on the bottom. Or, a notepad for Edit on top and a plus symbol for Edit on the bottom.

Glenn, I think yours is just a "refresh" issue. <
BGuy, I was just following suit of the skin. I didn't design the skin for the forum; I'm just being careful to stay within the color and appearance of what it is. Sure, both buttons do the same thing in the Wiki, but the Wiki is sharing the skin with the Forum and I want to take care that all alterations remain consistent. I changed only the text of each button. I thought, "If I remove the 'notepad' from the top button, then will not match the edit button at the top." The logic was applied to those buttons below
