26 April, 2014
In a few hours, April 27, 2014 will be dawning in the Pacific; April 27th is a very special day for UtterAccess.com. It will be the 12th anniversary of our founding and we have a lot to celebrate.
  • We continue to be the "premier Microsoft® Access help forum," thanks to all of our members.
  • With nearly 165,000 members, UtterAccess is truly world-wide. We have been seen in more than 160 countries.
  • Our members and visitors enjoy and learn from a knowledge base of almost 2 million posts.
  • Our AccessWiki continues to grow with in depth Access articles.
  • We have recorded more than 1 billion hits to date.
UtterAccess would not be what it is without the willingness of each and every member to share, not only their Access knowledge, but also their questions and issues in making the most of Access.
Congratulations UA Members on another successful year and here's to many more to come!
Glenn

12 years old .... how time flies ....
Seems like just yesterday that Gord (Gordon Hubbell) informed us that he managed to talk Simon Wolf into allowing him to take over full control of the old A3 site.
Even though Simon insisted on retaining the A3 name .. Gord quickly proclaimed the site ... "UtterAccess Forums".
It has been a very satisfying experience for me to be associated with Gordon and all the members here at UA.
I feel what was envisioned for the UA at that time remains the same today .. and has been a resounding success.
..... here's to celebrating many more years, and hoping to be a part of it ... and thanks for everything Gord.

Congratulations UtterAccess wine.gif
It seems just like yesterday that A3 was pulled off the internet and panic was felt by everyone involved with the site.
Emails were flying back and forth saying what are we going to do now.
Then Gordon Hubbell stepped forward and worked out a deal with Simon and UtterAccess was born, and we have grown to be the best site on the net.
Thanks to Gord and every member of UtterAccess I can't see that changing.
See you next year around this time again to celebrate with all my friends.

I thought I would add a link to the very first UtterAccess Forums anniversary post taken from the UtterAccess.com News forum originally posted on April 27, 2003.
This may give many members a history of how UtterAccess was conceived and some interesting replies from some of the original members ... many of which are still active today.
Happy Birthday UA (April 27, 2003)

I knew the history, but reading through the thread was a pleasant trip down memory lane seeing the people from UA's past. Thanks Ricky.

Wow, another amazing year gone by!
nybody got a screenshot of the old web interface? Birthdays without embarassing baby pictures are like an episode of Cake Boss without the word "fondant" in it...

The first two are A3.
The third is UA pre-current software. I judge every other forum site against our old home. It was a sweet and comfy home with some great features not found elsewhere.

Thanks, Jack!
It's nice to occasionally look back to see how far you've come.
I don't exactly miss the old interface (the current one is pretty darned sweet), but I love going through photo albums and reliving memories.

I actually remember visiting regularly in all 3 of those versions of A3/UA. A3 was the ONLY place to find Access help back in the day that was worth anything. Especially those late 90's days.
So many people have come and gone since then...wow.
