Hello,

I have a front end access application connected to SQL SERVER EXPRESS 2008.
I have several tens of users.
I wish to build a server to which each user will be able to connect using remote desktop and run the front end.
The connections will not be from the local network.

What hardware do you recommend me to buy in order to build it?

Thank you for your help

What kind of internet connection is available, and how much data will be stored on the server? How many users will be using the server simultaneously?

Depending on the number of concurrent users, a remote desktop solution could easily require a machine with multiple CPUs and a lot of RAM. I suggest you look for a local dealer, who has experience in that field.

It would be much cheaper to let the users connect to your local network via VPN and use the access front end locally.

Your method would mean only one user at a time could log in. If that is not a problem, any current PC (i5 or better) with a full complement of RAM can handle the job.

If concurrent access is important, look into Citrix or Terminal server.
