The value appears as "14.0".....should be "16.0", correct ?

That's right. I believe Currentdb.Version returns the ACE version, whereas syscmd(acSysCmdAccessVer) returns the Access file version.

And some more info ... (doing this from memory ... so ... help me out if I am incorrect)

CurrentProject.FileVersion: file format version of the .ACCDB/.MDB
CurrentDb.Version: Version of the DAO library in use.
CurrentDb.Properties("Version"): Version of the DAO library in use.
CurrentDb.Properties("ProjVer"): Version of the DAO library in scaled to an integer. (IIRC)
CurrentDb.Properties("AccessVersion"): Extra piece of info when dao4 was used -- a value of 8.5 was for A2000 and 9.5 was for A2002/3. I think this is now stuck at 9.5 .. even in Access 2013. It is my thought that this is the storage version of the VBA project. In A2000, I am guessing it was the first version of the VBA BLOB (8.50) and A2003 had the second version of the VBA project blob (9.50). I believe a value of 9.5 is still returned in our latest release of Access, and the way VBA is stored likely has not changed since A2003.
SysCmd(acSysCmdAccessVer): Version number of the Microsoft Access UI.
Application.Version: Version number of the Microsoft Access UI.
