I have a Word document with a table which has multiple rows and columns. Each table cell has a single-level numbered list. I want every cell's list to start with 1, but some start with higher numbers.

I need a bit of VBA code that can loop through the cells and force the non-1 starting cells to start with 1. I can write the looping code, I just need the code that acts on a given cell.

Thanks for any help or insight.

Have you tried doing it manually and recording the steps?

Doug,

Thanks for your idea.

I've tried that, but the resulting code is quite complex involving paragraph and list objects that I can't find any tutorial on.

I played around with the code and used Help extensively for a couple of hours, but no use.

There don't seem to be any books on Amazon or code snippets online dealing with Word lists.

By the way, in addiction to forcing each cell's list to start at 1, I also need to set the horizontal formatting of each list item - the position of the number and the text that follows it. The existing formatting is inconsistent and I want to have it all look the same.
