I have a split database and originally uploaded the BackEnd to sharepoint where it has been working perfectly. I now need to add at least one field (Payment Date) to a table called "Orders". I definitely don't want to lose the existing list on sharepoint so I want to be careful about how I do this. Do I modify the Sharepoint list by going to Sharepoint and adding a column, or is there a way to do this via either the BackEnd (still residing on my PC) which I don't use anymore as the current data is on the sharepoint list, or can I do this via the linked table in the FrontEnd Access copy that I have?

First make a backup.

Then I would definitely do it in SharePoint.

Make sure you create the backup first.
