I recently ran into this error at run time after slightly modifying an MS Access VBA function. I could find no flaws in my code--and it is the first time I have seen the error in over 4 years of coding VBA for MS Access.
The fix: I opened the problem file using the /decompile startup option, and the error vanished.
Apparently the module was corrupted and just needed to be recompiled completely. A web search using the words "microsoft access decompile" should yield enough information for you to use this feature.
