Full Version: How to install OLE server?

Hi
I'm a newbie at Access. I'm using a previously created database, that has a few pre-programmed reports.

I understand that two of these reports will draw graphs of some fields.

When I try to click on to open these reports, I get a popup box which says:

"The OLE server isn't registered. To register the OLE server, reinstall it."

When I copy the Access file to another laptop and try to open the same report, it is able to open the report and view the graphs.

I searched the Access Help for "Installing OLE server" but came up with nothing.

Can anyone tell me how to reinstall the OLE server? (I popped in the Office 2k disk and clicked on SetupAcc.exe but it basically tried to reinstall the entire application I think, I was looking for an option to add additional functionalities.)

Thanks in advance!

Hi freakazeud,
Thank you very much! I tried a few of the solutions (registering dlls, etc.) but finally found out that the problem was because I had chosen "custom" instead of "typical" when I installed Office, and the Office Tools package wasn't installed.

I should've just followed your instructions in sequence...heheh!

Thank you very much for your help. I'll remember to search the posts next time before posting a new thread.
