I have a query sourced by two tables and a query - when I remove the query from my design view, all fields using that table as a source go away, which is what I would expect.
When I try to run the query, I get the message
The Microsoft Jet database does not recognize 'MyQueryName.MyTableName.MyFieldName' as a valid field name or expression.
I go into the SQL view and there is no reference to the query or underlying tables - where is this coming from ?

Try copying the sql into a new query and running it. Sometimes goofy things can happen with query dependencies which can be cleared up this way.

Brian,
I think I tried that, but will try again - in my experience, the "baggage" mysteriously goes with it to the new query
thanks for your input...
