I just started using Access 2007. I created a report using the wizard and can't seem to find how to delete a label that is linked to a textbox. If I delete the label the textbox is deleted as well. This is different then prior versions.

It works the same. Select just the label and hit delete.

My label is in the Page Header section and my textbox is in a group header section. When I click on the label a dashed line rectangle appears around the label and the textbox. It looks like Access is grouping them in some way. When I select the label and delete it the textboxe gets deleted as well. If the label and the textbox appear in the same section of the report, then I am able to delete the label. This is not the same as previous versions. I can't find anything about it in Access help.

You must have those grouped together. I tested it as it would have been used before. Add a text box and delete it's associated label. Worked fine. I'm assuming you built new objects using the wizard. I noticed more grouped controls in the new templates so I'd say that's a good guess.

I found the solution. Access 2007 puts labels and textboxes into columns to help move things around on the report. If you click on a label or text box that are in different secitons of the report you will see a dashed line border around them. If you right click the label or text box you can choose the layout option on the shortcut menu then select remove. This removes the column for that pair and allows you to delete the label. I never encountered this behavior before.
