Full Version: Get a list box to control other controls
UtterAccess Forums > Microsoft® Access > Access Forms
I have a list box on a form and right now the list box lets me scroll through the names of people in my database. What I want to be able to do is click on one of the names in the list box, and then a set of controls adjacent to the list will be populated with data for that person so that I can edit and view their data. Is there a tutorial or person that can tell me how to do this? Thanks! laugh.gif

Base your form on the table with the data you want to display. Add a List Box to this form using the Wizard and on the Wizards first screen select the 3rd item, "Find a record...." Finish the Wizard. Now selecting a person from the list will show their details....
Thank you, this is the most helpful response. I can't believe I didn't spot that.

You are most welcome and there is a lot of stuff to 'spot' in Access so you are allowed to miss seeing them!!
