I have a bluetooth dongle that was provided with audio headphones. I am able to use those headphones with no problem and I like being wireless.

However, I want to have wireless audio input to my computer as well. I recently purchase a stereo (bluetooth) headset with a built in microphone. Again I have no problem hearing audio output but am unable to get the mic working. My audio recording software reports no microphone detected.

My bluetooth interface shows two services when I pair the headset (Bluetooth Advanced Audio and Bluetooth Headset) but whether or not I have the headset service connected, I have no joy with the microphone.

Any suggestions or general comments about working with bluetooth would be most appreciated.

Hi,
What OS? Did you install all necessary drivers (if needed)?

Hi Oli,

XP Pro SP3. Dongle drivers loaded... no driver came with the headset

Thanks,

What's the bluetooth versions supported by the dongle? Does it support headsets? I know this is not the exact same scenario but check this step by step to see if you can get it up and running that way.

I'm not sure how to find the Bluetooth versions the dongle supports but I suspect you may have a similar dongle wink.gif . It appears to support headsets given that I have a headset service showing up in the UI. I will try the link you suggested.

Thanks Oli.

No problem...the version is normally defined by the driver type that comes with it...good luck.
