I have done this a long time ago but have forgotten how so i hope someone here can remind me how to do it.

Basically I want to mimic the functionality of web forms where they count down the number of characters left available to type in a form.

I have a text box on a form that needs 10 characters, no more no less and I wanted to give the user a visual aid to show when they have filled in 10 characters so need a count down text box next to the field to illustrate that.
