Full Version: ASUS Nova P20 not recording audio

I have been a user of Audacity for about one year and had good luck on my old PC tower running XP and Audacity v1.3.6

However, after buying an ASUS Nova P20 computer - slightly bigger than a Mac Mini - I can't seem to record any music stream off the Internet.

It has Windows Vista Home Premium and I am using Audacity v1.3.7. All of my settings match those on my main PC.

Is there an issue with my Audacity settings, or this similar to the issues that I ran into with mt MacBook and MacMini, i.e. they required a 3rd-party software program (i.e. SoundFlower) to bridge between the input and output audio?!

I am wondering if since my P20 does not have a full-sized audio card, if this could be a hardware issue??

I'll be very disappointed if I can't record radio shows on my new ASUS. :(

Your help would be appreciated!!

Looks like I fixed my issue. I had to really play around with the different speaker channels and sound card channels (??) to get things working. I also had to "enable" the stereo mix in one of the sound mixer menus.

Very confusing!

Thank God my little PC Mini computer doesn't suffer from the same audio issues as my Macs!

Thanks,

Amy
