I am not sure if the issue I am havin g is with the processor, but this is what's happening.

I am working on a desktop pc. The original issue was when the user was in MS Excel and and would click on any option on the toolbar, the options would "fade" in slowly, rather than populating quickly.

I was going to run a diagnostic, so I went into the BIOS to change the boot sequence, and the BIOS was running EXTREMELY slow. The response was 4 to 6 seconds.

Other than the issues previously listed, other software works fine. I ran a detect and repair for office, but this did not resolve the issue.

Can the issue be the processor, ram or system board? I tried running a diagnostics program, but it just wont load.

Bios is controlled by the board, so it's probably that that's faulty.

See if there's a BIOS update that you can flash the board with - otherwise, you're looking at a replacement,

I ran a BIOS update. This did not resolve the issue. I also reseated the RAM. Additionally, I am running a diagnostic check on the RAM. The test is running EXTREMELY slow.

Thanks for your post.
