Hi, I'm about to begin the task of rebuilding a pretty jacked up database. The problem is, my Access knowledge is limited. Would anyone be willing to chat with me through a messenger service to help me rebuild this database? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nathan

Let's see if we can find a better home for this request. It sounds like you are asking for consultation services. At the very least, anyone taking on this task would be committing to an open-ended number of hours of free consultation. I wonder if this is a 10 hour task or a 500 hour task? Do you have a clear idea at this juncture of the work to be done? While I'm not suggesting that free help would not be available, it's probably a bit much to ask someone to commit that kind of arrangement pro bono, especially with no idea of the potential scope of the project going in.

However, we are all dedicated to helping one another with specific questions about specific issues. Therefore, it might be a better strategy to start by posting your specific questions as they come up. In addition, many of us have found that the efforts we devote to educating ourselves pay off rather quickly. So, unless you are willing to compensate a professional for their time in a more formal arrangement, your best bet might be to invest in a good book and start learning the basics--normalization and table design. As you move forward, come back here and post questions about the issues that come up. That way you can be assured of a timely response most of the time and input from one or more experts.

Best of luck in your project.

George
