Greetings. I'm trying to solve a "missing" toolbar issue and was wondering if out-dated References could be the cause.
Here's what's going on - Users create a new document in a specialized application. When MS Word opens, sometimes the Standard and Formatting toolbars display, and sometimes they don't. Additionally, there are specialized Word toolbars that can be invoked (purchased from a 3rd party). One of the specialized toolbars from this 3rd Party ALWAYS appears, with or without the other two Word toolbars.
The specialized application vendor updates their application regularly (Quarterly, approx). I keep all the workstations patched on a pretty regular basis (never out more than two cycles). The server(s) are updated by the Server Group (and I trust that they're doing their job as they should). These specialized toolbars, to the best of my knowledge, haven't been updated in quite some time (2-3 years? maybe more).
So, if it's possible, could out-dated References be causing this? If not possible, any other suggestions? BTW, everything else works as it should and the missing toolbars appear if the document is re-sized or if the user double-clicks in the area where the toolbars would have normally appeared.
