I have a unbound textbox on my form and would like it to defualt to todays date, but would also like the ability for the user to be able to change the date if needed. I can set the ControlSource to =Date() and the date will show up correctly, but it won't let me chnage it. If I eneter Date() in for DefaultValue then i get the #Name? message.

What am I doing wrong?! Thanks for your help!

Try DefaultValue on Property Sheet=>Data.

=Date()

=Date() gives me the #Name? message

Are there other textboxes on your form beside this one.
Check the name of the textbox to something else.
I tried setting the Default Value in A2010 without problem.

Weird....Its working now. I didn't change the name of the texbox. While working on something else my database started acting funny and I had to restart it, maybe it solved this issue too

Thanks for your help
