Full Version: Warning Message When Print Preview A Report

Access 2010
Windows 7

Page dimension: 8.5" X 11"
Report area width: 10.75"
Report Type: Landscape

Page setup
Top: 0.3, bottom: 0.25, left: 0.25, right:0.25

When a report is in "Report View" everything is okay, but when I select
"Print Preview" I got a warning message,

"The section width is greater than the page width and there are no items
in the additional space, so some pages maybe blank. For example, the
report width maybe wider than the page width."

How do I get rid of this message?

This basically is telling you that your printer can support the margin you specified... You have to increase your margin and ajust your report in consequence until the message is no longer.

You sort this out so that it isn't true..

"the report width maybe wider than the page width."

The page width is the physical page size set for your report, less margins.
Look at your page setup.

Lin100,

10.75 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 11.25 (if I'm reading your post correctly).

Depending on what printer you are using, they mostly all have a minimum space they need for each border top/bottom left/right. If you exceed that space, you will get warned.

Ideally, you would ensure your report will look great on any printer the user might connect with. You may want to resize to fit the printer that needs the biggest border.

Thank you all for your help.

I even reduced the page width to 10" and it still give that error message.

10 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 10.50"
The physical page width is 11"

What I do is open a new word document, on the page layout tab click go into the page setup
On the margins tab, set the margins to 0
then click ok
It will return an error "One or more margins..."
Click fix
Now look at the page setup margins, they have been set as the minimu acceptable for your default printer.

Make sure you son't set up your access report with margins any lesser than these values.

Also, in my experience, margins under 0.50" lead to problems.
